Special Guest: Stephen B. Scott


STEVE SCOTT (4)Cyprus Comic Con is proud to announce Stephen B. Scott as one of our esteemed Special Guests at this year’s convention!

Stephen B. Scott has illustrated such titles as; Batman, X-Men Forever, JLA, Batman Confidential, Marvel Adventures Hulk and many more. Over his eighteen year career, the publishers have included, DC Comics, Marvel Comics, Image, Dark Horse, London Knight Studios, Malibu Comics and several independent publishers.

In addition to his work in comics, Stephen has worked in TV, Film, and, video games. His work for television has been seen on two episodes of the hit TV series Smallville during season six. The work for Smallville was titled “Justice and Doom” for which Stephen illustrated one complete episode and was called back to work on the final episode of the series. In addition, Stephen was called upon by ABC Family’s hit series KYLE XY to illustrate a story bridging the gap between seasons one and two.

In films, Stephen was selected to draw the only adaptation to the 2008 Oscar winning film Batman the Dark Knight. His work was overseen and approved by director Christopher Nolan. This artwork was part of the packaging offered with the Special Blue Ray edition of Batman Begins. Also, that same year, George Lucas approved Stephen to be the artist for Indiana Jones and the Tomb of the Gods. This series, written by Rob Williams, was very popular with Indiana Jones fans all over the world. Much of the art from the series was purchased by Mr. Lucas himself and is now part of his permanent collection.

His most recent work can be found in the Award Winning adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s, “The Graveyard Book”and the critically acclaimed series, “Independence Day” from Titan Comics. Now in stores.

Melenia Koutsogianni


The next Featured Artist that will be showcasing her work at CCC16 is the young illustrator Melenia Koutsogianni!

Melenia finished her foundation course at Plakas Art Center in 2010 and went on to do a year of Fine Arts in Oxford Brookes University in Oxford. She studied with Mr. Andreas Aggelopoulos in Patras, Greece for 2 years, where she practiced illustration and comics.

She is currently living in Nicosia, where, with the help of the talented crew of Art Hub Visual Arts Laboratories, is preparing for further studies in Denmark.

Her drawing style consists of using mainly traditional art mediums, using pencils, pens, inks and watercolours. She is inspired by artists such as Chiara Bautista, Loish, Moon, Herakut among many others. She enjoys drawing tentacles, pretty girls and morbid stuff!

Win a scholarship in Graphics Arts by EUC!


euc logo engEuropean University Cyprus announces an Art Competition under the upcoming Cyprus Comic Con event. EUC contestants will have the opportunity to compete for a scholarship for the Bachelor Degree in Graphics Arts of European University Cyprus.  Candidates will be able to register by completing the online application form. They must attach their artwork with a topic that reflects the following categories: Graphic Design / Illustration / Painting / Comic Book design. The winner will be selected by a designated Cyprus Comic Con Committee.

Terms and conditions:

  1. The deadline is the 7th of September 2016 (Comic Con has no responsibility for entries not received for any reason).
  2. The competition is open to candidates over 18 years of age.
  3. The scholarship is not valid for current EUC students.
  4. The scholarship cannot be exchanged with cash and cannot be transferred to another person.
  5. The University reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and the terms and conditions without further notice.
  6. When you send the online application form, you are providing an electronic signature confirming that the information is true, that this is your artwork and that you agree with the terms and conditions.
