Did you know that in Greece there’s a very talented team of artists called Mangatellers who they have created a series manga comics?

We are extremely happy to inform you that they decided to support Cyprus Comic Con, by giving away copies of their latest manga oneshot “Thessaloniki Through Time”!

Synopsis
The history as well as the modern aspects of life of a Greek city thriving with young people is presented through the Japanese Art Form of MANGA. The heroes of the Mangatellers’ MANGA series are taking us on a journey through time in which we can see the development of the city of Thessaloniki from Ancient Times until the present, when Thessaloniki is declared the European Youth Capital 2014. “THESSALONIKI THROUGH TIME” is the collective work that is trying to combine European and Greek mentality with the Japanese culture in order to broaden the artistic conceptions of the young generation within the already familiar to them world of MANGA.

Who are Mangatellers?

Here’s what they say about themselves!
“We, Hatzopoulos Kariofillis – Chris and Voutsidis Raphael, have known each other since childhood. Our common interests in the art of MANGA and the Japanese Culture as well as in creative writing have led us to create the manga series Remember Ur Nature (R.u.N.) in 2008. In 2014 we were able, in collaboration with our friends Lagouvardos Manos and Efimidis Nikitas to publish eight chapters of R.u.N. and the manga oneshot WiFi Wars. Our team aims at continuing to publish mainstream MANGA series in the indie webcomic field. Moreover we hope to combine the Japanese Art Form of MANGA with the Greek mentality. The result of such an attempt is the MANGA oneshot “Thessaloniki Through Time”, published by the Thessaloniki: European Youth Capital 2014. You can get this manga oneshot in Cyprus Comic Con 2014 for free!”

Γνωρίζατε πως στην Ελλάδα υπάρχει μια ταλαντούχα ομάδα από καλλιτέχνες, οι οποίοι δημιούργησαν μια σειρά από Manga κόμικ;

Αυτή η ομάδα ονομάζεται Mangatellers, και είμαστε στην ευχάριστη θέση να σας ανακοινώσουμε πως θα στηρίξουν με το δικό τους τρόπο το Cyprus Comic Con! Πιο συγκεκριμένα, κάποιοι τυχεροί από εσάς θα πάρουν δωρεάν αντίτυπα της τελευταίας τους δουλειάς, που ονομάζεται “Thessaloniki Through Time”!

Λίγα λόγια για το manga:
Η ιστορία, καθώς επίσης και οι σύγχρονες πτυχές της ζωής σε μια ελληνική πόλη, η οποία είναι γεμάτη νέους παρουσιάζεται μέσω της Ιαπωνικής Τέχνης Manga. Οι ήρωες των Manga από τους Mangatellers μάς ταξιδεύουν στο χρόνο όπου μπορούμε να δούμε την ανάπτυξη της πόλης της Θεσσαλονίκης, από την αρχαιότητα μέχρι σήμερα, οπότε και είχε ανακυρηχθεί ως Ευρωπαϊκή Πρωτεύουσα Νέων το 2014. Το  “THESSALONIKI THROUGH TIME” είναι μια συλλογική δουλειά, που συνδυάζει το Ευρωπαϊκό και το Ελληνικό πνεύμα με την Ιαπωνική κουλτούρα, με σκοπό να διερύνει τις καλλιτεχνικές αντιλήψεις της νέας γενιάς, η οποία είναι εξοικειωμένη με τον κόσμο των Manga.

Ποιοι είναι οι Mangatellers?

Λίγα λόγια από τους ίδιους!

“Εμείς, οι Χατζόπουλος Καριοφίλης – Χρήστος και Βουτσίδης Ραφαήλ, γνωριζόμαστε από την παιδική μας ηλικία. Κοινό μας χόμπι ήταν η τέχνη των Manga αλλά και η Ιαπωνική Κουλτούρα, όπως και η δημιουργική συγγραφή. Αυτό μας οδήγησε στο να φτιάξουμε μια σειρά manga, με την ονομασία Remember Ur Nature (R.u.N.) το 2008. Το 2014 ήμασταν σε θέση μαζί με τους φίλους μας Λαγουβάρδο Μάνο και Εφυμίδη Νικήτα να εκδόσουμε οκτώ κεφάλαια από το R.u.N., όπως και το WiFi Wars. Η ομάδα μας έχει ως στόχο να εκδόσει μια σειρά από Manga από το διαδίχτυο (webcomics). Επίσης, θέλουμε να συνδυάσουμε την Ιαπωνική Μορφή Τέχνης Manga με την Ελληνική πτυχή. Αποτέλεσμα της προσπάθειας αυτής, ήταν το Manga Oneshot “Thessalonikh Through Time”, το οποίο εκδόθηκε από το Thessaloniki: European Youth Capital 2014.
