We welcome back another returning artist to Cyprus Comic Con 2017 – Greek illustrator Leonidas Stivaktis!
Leonidas recalls himself drawing ever since he was able to hold a pencil and has been working professionally as an illustrator since the age of seventeen. He studied comics and illustration in Ornerakis School of Applied Arts, as well as creative writing in the Kapodistrian University of Athens. Since 2013, Leonidas has been self-publishing his own comics since 2013, splitting his time between that and freelance comic, illustration and concept work.
Leonidas’ work is mainly driven by real life issues, given through fantasy and humor. His most recent project he completed in 2017 is inspired by Greek folklore of the latest centuries, as well as pop queer culture. His goals for the future are to explore ignored parts of Greek folklore even more and to focus on concept art and comics longer and more challenging than the ones he has produced so far!
To see more of Leonidas’ illustrations, visit his website and Facebook page. Make sure to also check out his online shop on Etsy for his original comics and stickers!
