Artist Profile: Fares Zoghlami


Fares Zoghlami is a self-taught artist currently based in Cyprus. Half-Tunisian and half-British, Fares is still only 18 years old and in his last year of school. After moving to Limassol last year, he has since been practicing his artwork, primarily consisting of black and white compositional drawings using technical pens.

Fares is a huge fan of video games, especially Role-Playing Games and he enjoys watching Japanese anime in his spare time.

His goal is to one day become a professional animator. Fares says that after attending Cyprus Comic Con last year, he felt very inspired by the featured creatives’ artwork at the convention and he is really excited to be part of it this year.

Well Fares, we are also very pleased to have you taking part this year and we are confident that your work will be loved by many!

Artist Profile: Demetris Panayides


Demetris Panayides is a young self-taught artist from Nicosia and a huge fan of comics, movies and music. For the past eight years, he has been involved in illustration, logo and flyer design. Demetres notably designed the cover for local metal band Blynd’s first full-length album, titled ‘The Enemy’ and illustrated the mascot “Rusty Goblin” for the fantasy game workshop Isengard.

In 2014, Demetres was one of the ten runner-ups of a worldwide talent hunt held by American comics publisher Top Cow and this year, his first comic Artifacts: Lost Tales #1 was published through them. Furthermore, Demetres has illustrated another comic that will be published alongside the new album of well-known power metal band Winter’s Verge.

Currently, Demetres is working on various projects to be sent to publishing companies in the US. We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavours and we are confident that we will see more from him again before long!

Artist Profile: Maria C. Loizou


Maria Christina Loizou (AKA Nightwalker) is an energetic artist from Cyprus with a great passion towards illustration, concept and game art. You can follow Maria on Facebook and Instagram.

After completing her Bachelor’s degree in Applied Multimedia Arts at the University of Nicosia, Maria focused on developing her skills towards concept art and illustration, creating characters from her imagination and making them come to life through storytelling. Maria currently works as a freelance artist, creating various designs ranging from character illustration, storyboarding and graphic design. Her main goal is to continue developing her skills and someday becoming a successful professional artist in character illustration and game art.

We are very excited to have Maria as one of our featured artists at this year’s Cyprus Comic Con and we are confident that you will love her work just as much as we do!

Artist Profile: Dani


Cyprus Comic Con 2015 will feature an incredible gathering of talented local and international artists! We know you are curious to get to know them and look at their work, which is why we decided to make use of the time we have until the event to introduce them to you!

The first creative we are proud to feature on our website is called Dani, a comic book artist from Athens, Greece. You can follow Dani’s work on Facebook and Instagram.

“Dani was born in Athens, Greece in 1992 and she is currently a student at Athens School of Fine Arts. She has been making comics for quite a while now and has participated in a number of exhibitions, competitions and conventions over the years. Dani is the creator and designer of Tales from the Strips, a self-published series that won the People’s Choice Award at the Greek Comics Awards 2015. She loves her cats and travelling around the world.”

Dani will be one of the featured artists at this year’s Cyprus Comic Con and we are very excited to have her!
