Artist Profile: Chrysso Vassiliou


Chrysso Vassiliou is a talented young artist from Larnaca. At 22 years old, she is still a student and currently studying Fine Arts at Alexander College. Her online nickname is “Chryssv”.

Chrysso is a self-taught digital artist and only started experimenting with digital drawing media around 1-2 years ago. Her dream is to become a professional videogame illustrator and concept artist. She currently works for commissioned work and sells her digital paintings. Her style is primarily inspired by cartoon and videogame culture, movies, comics, Western animation as well as Japanese anime.

Artist Profile: Panayiotis Verropoulos


Panayiotis Verropoulos is a 23 year old Visual Effects Artist and Compositor, from Cyprus.

From a very young age, Panayiotis discovered his passion for filmmaking and Visual Effects. He started delving more in to this world by watching tutorials and making his own small projects.

After completing his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from European University Cyprus, he was awarded with a full scholarship from one of the best schools for 3D Animation & Visual Effects; Vancouver Film School.

There, in one extremely intense year, following real studio pipelines and working with real industry people, he acquired the knowledge to pursue a career as a Compositor in Feature Films or TV series.

We are very pleased to have Panayiotis featuring at this year’s convention. We hope you also like his work and are looking forward to see more this coming August!

Artist Profile: Nikoletta Kyprianou


Nikoletta Kyprianou is a freelance artist and illustrator from Nicosia, with a BA Degree from Middlesex University. Nikoletta really enjoys creating intricate pen drawings of weird and out of this world characters.

She grew up watching old horror and fantasy movies and reading books and comics like Shivers, Goosebumps and Tales from the Crypt, which eventually inspired her art. Her work is all hand drawn with some final Photoshop touches, depending on the commission.

For the past 5 years, Nikoletta has been the art director for Power of the Night Festival and most of her current work includes, CD covers and booklets, concert and event posters and t-shirt design for many bands.

She was also included in the D&AD book of 2008 introducing young fresh talent, for creating a unique look for a series of well known fantasy novels.

We love Nikoletta’s illustration style and we are confident that her work will attract a lot of attention at our upcoming convention!

Artist Profile: George Alexandrou


A BA(hons) Animation graduate of Southampton Solent University, George works as a freelancer artist dealing with a vast array of projects. From music videoclips, to short films, theatre projections, ads, posters, comic books and any other work that requires artistry.

George is an artist involved in both Animation and Illustration with a preference in more colourful and cheerful depictions of life and characters. His personal goal is to inspire and leave a positive note on the observer.

Depending on the project he is working on, George likes to use various media that will give him the best results possible. He generally works well with both traditional and digital means (Pencil, Ink, Paint, Photoshop, Illustrator).

His greatest achievement has been his university final year short film “HAVEN” winner of an RTS (Royal Television Society) award for ‘best student animated short’ in 2008, which led to George being featured in Computer Arts magazine as one of the most promising graduates of 2008 in the UK.

Currently, George is working on a couple of theatre productions as well as some comic book ideas, for which hopefully he will have a sample ready for us at this year’s Cyprus Comic Con!

Artist Profile: Anna Cosma


Born in Nicosia in 1992, Anna Cosma is a freelance visual artist and aspiring tattoo artist, who works mostly with illustration and dotwork techniques.

Growing up in a creative home, Anna began drawing at a young age and after completing her A-level in Art and Design, she has continued to be self-taught in her discipline.

Her style of surreal characters and intricate lines has been influenced by the works of artists such as Alex Pardee, Alex Grey and Salvador Dali. Her work is a collection of creations beyond our physical reality which are translated into apparel, graffiti, and tattoo designs.

Cyprus Comic Con is very pleased to be able to offer a platform for so many unique local and international artists to showcase their talent! Anna’s work is very striking and we are confident that her illustrations will have you mesmerised.
