Thodoris Thou

The Cyprus Comic Con wants to welcome Thodoris Thou to CCC19 Artists’ Alley!

Thodoris is a self-taught sculptor and ceramist. He was born in Paphos but he moved to Nicosia when he was a child. He is mostly figurative sculptor but he also makes functional ceramics too, such as mugs plates, spoons pitches, tea pots etc. His inspiration comes primarily from pop culture; famous movie characters and iconic creatures and monsters! The Greek mythology is another source of his inspiration.

Thodoris has a special bond with nature and animals and a lot of the time he uses that on his work. He has been working with clay since 2006 and he uses stoneware clay mostly. All his sculptures are covered with underglazes, stains and glazes and are fired multiple times in an electric kiln with final temperatures 1200 – 50c degree. His studies background has nothing to do with clay; he went to Athens for 3 years studying animation in a private collage. Sometimes he sees that part of himself in his work, nothing is wasted!

You can visit Thodoris’ Instagram to see more of his work!

Nicos Nipat

We are excited to have Nicos Nipat joining us for CCC19 Artists’ Alley!

Nicos is a self-taught cartoonist from Cyprus who uses traditional media such as ink and watercolours to offer a funny take on everyday situations. Growing up, the margins of Nicos’ school books were covered in pencil doodles. As an adult he’s constantly amazed at how someone’s feelings can be transferred and expressed on paper and then communicated to others.

In the past he took part in the creation of comic books through a collaboration with WriteCy and he is always looking for opportunities and good stories to work on! Being an artist that’s serious about improving his skills, Nicos can be seen around town carrying a sketchbook and pen that he uses for observational drawing of unsuspecting bystanders, capturing their souls in his sketchbook forever! Careful, you could be next!

To see more of Nicos’ work, you van visit his Instagram and Facebook.

Zhllustrator (Živko Kondić)

Cyprus Comic Con is excited to welcome Zhllustrator (Živko Kondić) to its Artists’ Alley!

Živko is a freelance 2D artist from Novi Sad, Serbia. His art is a particular blend of sci-fi and realism, alternate universes and hovering kittens. His art skills are mostly self taught, even though he was a student of Bogdan Šuput school of design in Novi Sad, earning himself a graphic designer degree.

Through the years he’s developed a personal style and way of seeing things, expressing mostly through digital painting and traditional drawing or sketching. His art tends to be colorful, melancholic, optimistic, heavily atmospheric and loose. His work is mostly personal art and client work for smaller companies and individuals. One notable client were Games Workshop.

Alterslavia is Živko’s flagship personal project, an alternate universe and low-SF blend with inspiration rooted in Yugoslavian motives, regional ethnic garbs, both real and imagined places and people who live in them. Živko appears on a number of conventions throughout Europe and plans to expand than in the future.

Outside art, he’s a chatty, goofy fella who likes to play guitar, take photos, meet people and travel. He also does livestreaming occasionally.

Check out Živko’s art on his websiteFacebook and Instagram.
