Raffles

Comic Con visitors will be able to participate in a raffle hosted by Gamers’ Boulevard, with the chances of  winning two amazing collectible gifts:: A set of the DeLorean time machine and Marty McFly figure, from the popular culture legend ‘Back to the Future’, scale 1:6, as well as a real-size bust of Kratos, the main character from the game ‘God of War’!

To participate in the raffle, interested parties are requested to purchase raffle tickets that will be available for sale at the convention. For the Back to the Future set, the raffle ticket costs €2, whereas for the Kratos bust the cost is €1. Participants can choose to purchase as many tickets as they want, to maximise their chance of winning! The lucky two winners will be announced just before the ending of Cyprus Comic Con 2016, on Sunday 4th September, but also online through the Comic Con social media pages as well as through Gamers’ Boulevard.

Jimmy D, Dj Englezos, Honston G on the Con decks!

Ola DJ will be bringing the following three DJs to play at Cyprus Comic Con’s Fringe Festival:

Jimmy D: Jimmy D is a radio producer at Deejay93.5 and he has been on the radio for 13 years now. His show called “The art of music” is broadcasted daily from 15:00 to 17:00. His style consists of all genre music. From Funk to rock, to Electroswing pop and Electronica Jimmy D has played in various bars and events around the Island. He will be performing on the 3d of September at Comic Con. A 60 minute set of superhero music and more!

Dj Englezos: Since 2008, Vasilis Englezos, a turntablist from the Mediterranean island of Cyprus, known for using turntables as instruments, Master of Creating Video Routines with a lot of Blends, Toneplays, Jugglin, Wordplays and of course Scratching.

Honston G: Honston G Is known for his eclectic style of rock, metal, jazz, rock’n’ roll, boogie woogie, blues, electroswing, electroblues, psychedelic tech and everything in between. Inspired by movies with amazing Soundtracks , moments in time dressed in music and music that makes your feelings move, his style has become diverse yet always stays close by and related to blues, rock and alternative sounds.

Cosplay on Sunday

With the cosplay competition happening on Saturday, one would think that on Sunday there won’t be much do to in terms of cosplay. Wrong!

Our cosplay special guest, Kairi, will be running two very interesting panels for cosplayers! Here’s what they are about in her own words:

Cosplay Motivations (11:30 – 13:00)

I’m sure you sometimes feel down about your cosplay skill, your stage acting or make up work – everybody has these moments they feel like ‘a plastic bag, no biggie! But how to regain the motivation you lost because of certain people or situations? How to find some more reasons to finally finish the costume you’ve started a long time ago? How to stop comparing yourself to other cosplayers? Come and discuss with me, I can propose you some ways out!

Cosplay Performance Building (15:00 – 16:30)

Doesn’t matter if you already tried stage acting or if you’re a total newbie – everybody are free to come! I will help you plan and organise everything that is needed to make your stage performance unforgettable for you, your cosplay group and especially – for the audience! Prepare some cool and important questions as we will have a few minutes for Q&A in the end of prelection.

Cosplay Freestyle (16:30 – 19:00)

Right after Kairi’s performance building workshop, we will have the honour of watching her perform on our cosplay stage live! This will be the introduction to a new section which we decided to call Cosplay Freestyle! What this involves is literally a playground where every cosplayer can try their hand at performing a cosplay skit on the CCC16 Cosplay Stage with the music and video backdrop of their choice from a USB stick or anywhere on the internet. The participation will be first-come-first-served and  if you’re interested in performing, all you need to do is come to the cosplay stage and meet with the cosplay team during the Cosplay Freestyle!

A few words about CCC’s bazaar!

After last year’s major success, Cyprus Comic Con Bazaar returns with many used and handmade items available for sale! There will be a big variety of items – from handmade wristbands and bonzai trees to mugs, collectibles, video games and vinyl records!

Here’s a small taste of what you can expect to find at the bazaar which is set on Sunday, September 4th from 10:00 till 19:00! The bazaar will take place at ‘Pentadaktylos’ hall.
