Cyprus Comic Con is a non-profit organisation which celebrates comic book influenced art and culture in Cyprus, with plans to expand and also form collaborations within all surrounding regions (Europe, Middle East, Asia).
This year’s event will take place at Filoxenia Conference Centre in Nicosia on September 3rd & 4th 2016, from 10:00-19:00 and 10:00-20:00 respectively.
“Comic Con is a worldwide phenomenon that has captivated pop culture fans year in, year out. In recent years, we have seen a type of renaissance of the ninth art on a global scale in every form, with Hollywood blockbusters, video games, fine hand-drawn illustration, comic books and TV shows, all creating a new-age culture. With the on-going revolution of this famous industry, we look to provide the same quality and variety of content that other international comic conventions all around the world have been offering under the broad categories of film, comics, anime/manga, video gaming, table-top games and cosplay.” – Tony Michaels, CCC Organiser & PR Manager
Last year’s event was an unparalleled success, exceeding all expectations with over eight thousand people attending! This year, Cyprus Comic Con will be expanding even further, taking advantage of the entire Filoxenia Conference Centre and aiming to maintain the momentum and excitement of last year’s event, by introducing even more activities, panels, special guests and other particulars.
A short-list of some of this year’s features includes; a genre film festival, local and international artists and special guests, panels/talks by local and international guests, live music, cosplay stage show, video gaming and table-top tournaments, booths and displays by local and international stores/sponsors, an exhibition of artwork and collectibles and much, much more!
