Artist Profile: Opaque Happiness

Cyprus Comic Con welcomes talented illustrator Christiana Efthimiou, also known as Opaque Happiness, to its Artists’ Alley!

Christiana Efthimiou is a 21 year old self-taught artist born and raised in Limassol, Cyprus, who makes digital art. Her drawings usually have a sad, melancholic, dark, bittersweet or calming theme featuring pale characters with tired eyes and sometimes she likes to draw birds and flowers as well, because she finds them very pretty. Her main inspiration to draw is the music she listens to, which fits with her drawing themes, but sometimes inspiration can strike out of nowhere. Artists who have inspired her greatly are the works of Obsolete World and Adam Tan.

In the past Christiana used to draw a lot of digital anime/manga-related art and monster/kaiju designs but then slowly switched to her own style with colored pencils. It was around last year that she switched back to using digital art again and started to develop her style through it. Her future goals are to become a better artist and create more works that people can identify with, illustrate and publish her very own storybooks! Oh and own a pet parrot!
