Super Smash Bros. Tournament – Prizes announcement

Cyprus Smash Brothers are proud to announce the prizes for this year’s Super Smash Bros Nationals taking place at Cyprus Comic Con on August 29 at Filoxenia Conference Centre.

  • 1st place winner – Xbox One Console
  • 2nd place winner – Iron Man 3 ArtFx Statue 1/6 – 38cm tall
  • 3rd place winner – Marvel Comics – ArtFx + Statue 1/10 Deadpool (Marvel Now Series) – 15cm

Special Guest: Michael Dialynas

dialinas4Michael Dialynas is an accomplished comic book illustrator who has co-created Amala’s Blade for Dark Horse Comics, drawn comics like Spera for Archaia, Superior Spider-man Team-up for Marvel and currently, the critically acclaimed The Woods for BOOM! Studios with writer James Tynion IV.

He has also co-published a collection of short stories he wrote and illustrated called Trinkets: An Attic Full of Stories (now available from Comicdom Press).

He is based in Athens, Greece and can be found online on his official site: woodencrown.com

CYPRUS COMIC CON FILM FESTIVAL 2015

filmOne of the many parallel event sections of the Cyprus Comic Con is an in-house film festival specializing in genre short films (sci-fi, horror, fantasy, fan films etc) & following last years successful film screenings it is upgraded to a worldwide competition for this years edition.

We are also very excited to announce that this years edition also marks the beginning of a yearly partnership with the official International Short Film Festival of Cyprus (ISFFC) with specialized sections hosted in both festivals.

A jury of acclaimed filmmakers and comic book artists will give out a “Best of Con” award worth 2000€ in post production services from one of the islands premium production houses. Beyond our jury award, the top-5 shortlisted films for the prize will be also screened in October at the International Short Film Festival of Cyprus, as part of a specific section.

Submissions from all over the world are accepted but we encourage local genre filmmakers to participate and show off their film making talents. The selected films will be screened at this years Cyprus Comic Con on 29th of August @ the Filoxenia Conference Center in Nicosia. Late deadline for film registrations is August 23, 2015.
