Daniel Wright

Daniel Wright is only 18 years old however he has already written and self-published his first book, titled “The Rune Chronicles”. He wants to become a full time writer when he graduates from school – we wish him the best of luck!

A few words of his book: The main character of the novel is named Rune – who is thrust into a strange new world of magic, politics and tyranny when his father is killed by Company soldiers. He discovers that his best friend Alexa is a mage when she saves him from the soldiers. In a world where mages and magic are feared and hunted how will Rune learn to survive…

The cover art is drawn by Christis Christoforou, colored by Stavros Christoforou and the title is designed by George Theodorides.

Τι κι αν είναι μόλις 18 ετών; Ο Daniel Wright, απόφοιτος Λυκείου, μπορεί να υπερηφανεύεται πως έχει εκδώσει το πρώτο του βιβλίο, το οποίο ονομάζεται “The Rune Chronicles”. Στόχος του, είναι να γίνει συγγραφέας όταν τελειώσει το σχολείο. Του ευχόμαστε ό,τι καλύτερο!

Λίγα λόγια για το βιβλίο του: Ο κύριος χαρακτήρας της νουβέλας ονομάζεται Rune – ο οποίος μπλέκεται σε ένα νέο, περίεργο κόσμο μαγείας, πολιτικής και τυραννίας όταν ο πατέρας του σκοτώνεται από τους στρατιώτες της Εταιρείας. Ανακαλύπτει πως η καλύτερή του φίλη, Alexa, είναι μάγος όταν τον σώζει από τους στρατιώτες. Σε ένα κόσμο όπου οι μάγοι και οι μαγεία αποτελούν τρόμο και καταδιώκονται, ο Rune θα μάθει πώς είναι να ζει κάποιος για την επιβίωσή του…

Το εξώφυλλο σχεδιάστηκε από τον Christis Christoforou, η επεξεργασία χρωμάτων έγινε από τον Stavros Christoforou και ο τίτλος σχεδιάστηκε από τον George Theodorides.

CCC 2014 Cosplay Contest

wf2009_s_fire_cosplay14With the first Cyprus Comic Con also comes the first island-wide cosplay contest with big, delicious prizes to be won for the best looking and most in-character showing at the con! If you haven’t signed up as a cosplayer already then we recommend you do so to save yourself time on the day – Apply Now! So what will your day at Cyprus Comic Con look like as a cosplayer?

The first thing to do is visit the Cosplay Registration Desk – here you’ll be able to check in and our cosplay staff will let you know about times for the judging and public parade as well as any other events, games and photography/video sessions that might be available on the day. We will also be checking your outfits and weapons for rules compliance at this point, so make sure you read them and check your cosplay won’t poke anyone’s eye out!

Next – get out there and enjoy the convention but remember you’re in cosplay – people are definitely going to want to take photos with you so be prepared!

After noon (exact time to be announced) the private judging will take place. You’ll have a minute or two to impress our panel of judges in a private room. Get in character – strike a pose, show us your moves. Earning the biggest cosplay prizes the island has ever seen hangs in the balance!

Once the judging is complete the public parade will take place on the main stage so everyone can get a good look at you. Hope you don’t have stage fright! Winner and prize announcements will then follow!

Worried about cosplaying for the first time? Don’t! Even a cardboard box would make the cut and as I write there will be at least another 80 cosplayers there on the day to make you feel less outlandish! I’ll leave you with a video from London Comic Con to get you in the mood. ^_^
