Artist Profile: Andreani Soupashi

Today’s Featured Artist is Andreani Soupashi, a young upcoming illustrator from Nicosia.

Andreani “Souhashi” Soupashi was born on the 27th of April, 1998. She grew up with a pencil in her hand, drawing whatever interested her at any given moment, mostly horses and cartoons. At the age of four, she enrolled in art classes where she was taught the basic disciplines of drawing, painting and sketching. These classes lasted for eight years and helped spark her passion for design, illustration and comics.

To see more of Andreani’s work, visit her portfolio on Behance.

In elementary and high school she took small design jobs such as creating posters and illustrations for various school events and selling artwork for charity. She also designed costumes, props and sets for school plays. Her lifetime dream is to become a video game designer and she set this dream in motion while working for her GCSE exams.

For her projects, she delved into character design, scriptwriting, concept art and animation, getting a taste of the industry in the process. During this time, her love for the craft was cemented. She taught herself several programs including Photoshop, Adobe Premiere and Zbrush and is currently working on some amateur programming.

This year, her journey will be taking a slight detour as she is going to study computer science, another interest of hers. Through Cyprus Comic Con, Andreani aims to show her art, gain valuable experience, meet other artists and above all, have fun!

Artist Profile: Anna Cosma

Anna Cosma is returning to Cyprus Comic Con for another year as one of our Featured Artists!

Anna is a self-taught and self-employed illustrator from Nicosia, Cyprus. Drawing has been a consistent part of her life from a very young age. After years of teaching herself and practicing, she decided to pursue art as a career rather than a hobby. She studied for a year at an art school in Nicosia, Cyprus, learning basic techniques and figure drawing, eventually moving onto developing her own style of intricate patterns and dotwork.

Follow Anna’s work on Facebook and Instagram.

Anna’s work is presented in the form of custom tattoo designs, and printed t-shirts which I have sold at various festivals here in Cyprus. Her latest project has been a yoga book illustration which will be
published in 2016, and she is currently in the process of planning and
developing her own clothing brand which will feature her designs. Her
main objective is to learn the art of tattooing, and to one day be able to tattoo her own artwork!
