Artist Profile: George Komiotis

George Komiotis is our next Featured Artist who will be showcasing his work at CCC16!

George studied  illustration at applied arts centre “Ornerakis” and is currently working professionally as a freelance artist since 1998 for various magazines, newspapers and publishing houses, creating short comics and strips, illustrations, portraits, children’s books, storyboards and animations!

Some of his more well-known projects include the comic book series “Moufa” and Psychakias” for insert “9” of “Eleutherotypia”, as well as the series “Ohi allo Karvouno” for the magazine “PC Master”. Furthermore, for a number of years, he has created many illustrations, portraits, comics and strips for the insert “Erevnites” of “Kathimerini” newspaper. He has also collaborated with several other publications such as Maxim, Galera, Metro, etc.

Cosplayers in full costume and children under 5 years old get free entrance!

For the very first time Cyprus Comic Con is now offering a VIP Weekend Pass – this is limited to just 200 tickets and nets the following gear & perks for die-hard con-goers;

  • Early Access – enter Cyprus Comic Con early at 9a.m, queue-free, one whole hour before the doors open at 10a.m on both Saturday & Sunday. The perfect opportunity to beat the queues, meet & greet special guests and browse at your leisure.
  • CCC2016 T-Shirt – a complimentary t-shirt boasting our official 2016 design!
  • Limited Edition Key-ring – only 200 of these have been made and only VIPs will be receiving them.

Our t-shirts are once again Designed By Wizards oozing with that cultural revolution type of feeling and chock-full of pop culture references. Can you spot them all? Available in both black and dark heather, buy yours quick before supplies run dry!

Upon purchasing tickets or t-shirts you will need to print out the confirmation email to show to us at the entrance on the day. If you’ve also ordered a t-shirt this can be picked up at our merchandise desk in the foyer. As an alternative to printing you could also show your confirmation email to our entrance & merchandise staff on the screen of your smart phone or tablet. It’s important to note we will not be shipping t-shirts and/or VIP merchandise – these items will only be available for pick-up during Cyprus Comic Con 2016.

We first introduced Dani as one of our Featured Artists at last year’s event. This year, Cyprus Comic Con is proud to welcome Dani back as one of our esteemed Special Guest artists!

Dani was born in Athens, Greece in 1992 and studied sculpturing in Athens School of Fine Arts. She has been making comics for quite a while now and has participated in a number of exhibitions, competitions and conventions over the years. Dani has worked for 2000AD and is the creator and designer of “Tales from the Strips”, a self-published series that won the Reader’s Choice Award at the Greek Comics Awards 2015. She loves her cats and travelling around the world!
