The Cyprus Horror Society (CHS) is back with its most spine-chilling cinematic celebration yet, set to take place on May 10th, from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM, at the iconic Rio Cinema in Limassol. This year’s event promises to be a bone-rattling journey through the darkest corners of horror cinema. With a curated selection of 22 terrifying short and feature films from around the world, CHS continues its mission to spotlight independent horror creators and cultivate a thriving community for horror lovers in Cyprus and beyond.

A highlight of the evening will be the exclusive Cyprus premiere of the psychological horror feature Love Me Dead, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Josh Webber. Prepare for a haunting exploration of love, obsession, and the human psyche that will leave audiences breathless.

As the founder, I’m honoured to welcome you to the third edition of the Cyprus Horror Society Film Festival—the first and only festival in the country devoted entirely to horror cinema. Horror has always been a way to explore the fears that live just beneath the surface, both personal and collective. In Cyprus, a country shaped by division, displacement, and a complex history, horror speaks to something deeper: the echoes of memory, the scars of the unseen, and the resilience of those who live with both. Without being political, this genre gives us the freedom to confront what haunts us—past and present—with creativity, catharsis, and even a sense of community. This festival is our way of celebrating that power, and of proving that horror has a rightful and meaningful place in the heart of Cyprus.
